
Nora Hauptle, the head coach of the Black Queens, expressed satisfaction with her team’s impressive 7-0 victory over Rwanda in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Ghanaian women’s national team dominated with three goals in the first half and added another four in the second, sealing a resounding win in Kigali on Wednesday.
Hauptle emphasized the significance of both the substantial margin of victory and maintaining a clean sheet, considering them crucial accomplishments.
“We won 7-0. Of course, it is quite satisfying. It is not only about scoring so many goals. It is important we also kept our kept our clean sheet.”
Doris Boaduwaa, Evelyn Badu, and Princella Adubea netted goals, securing a 3-0 lead for Ghana by halftime. Kusi Alice, Evelyn Badu, and a double by Achiaa Anasthesia sealed a commanding 7-0 victory for the Black Queens.
The return match of the first round is scheduled for Tuesday, September 26, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Once the qualifying process is concluded, the Black Queens will advance to the second round.
