Arsenal Sets Price Tag for Eddie Nketiah Amid Marseille’s Transfer Interest
Arsenal has officially communicated their asking price for Eddie Nketiah as the summer transfer window heats up. The French club, Marseille, is keen on acquiring the talented striker and has made a second bid estimated around €27 million as of Friday. This move indicates their determination to secure a player who has shown promise and potential in the English Premier League.
The 25-year-old forward has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Marseille, managed by former Brighton head coach Roberto De Zerbi. Despite his interest in the move, Arsenal has chosen to reject the offer, deeming it insufficient for such a valued player. Nketiah, a product of Arsenal’s esteemed academy, represents an integral part of their future plans.

Arsenal aims to secure a minimum of €35 million in any potential deal, which would also include a sell-on clause, as stated by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The negotiations remain ongoing, and the north London club’s expectations may prompt Marseille to explore other options within the transfer market if an agreement cannot be reached soon.
According to Sky Sports, discussions are still in progress, and Les Olympiens are contemplating whether to submit a third bid for Nketiah. The striker has been a valuable asset under manager Mikel Arteta in recent seasons, although he has struggled to secure a consistent starting position in the lineup.
Last season, Nketiah made 27 appearances in the Premier League, with 17 of those coming from the bench, during which he managed to score five goals. This limited playing time has led to ongoing speculation about his future with the club as he seeks a more prominent role in the starting eleven.
In addition to pursuing Nketiah, Marseille recently signed forward Mason Greenwood from Manchester United for €27.6 million (£23.3 million), plus an additional €4 million (£3.4 million) in performance-related add-ons earlier this summer. They are also in discussions to bring in Youssoufa Moukoko from Borussia Dortmund, with negotiations underway for a loan deal that includes an option to buy. Romano has reported that personal terms with Moukoko have also been agreed upon.
