This weekend, I plan to engage in the same experience as the Chiefs by watching the AFC playoff contenders clash in the Wild Card round. As a fan, I’m hoping for thrilling upsets. If the Texans, Steelers, and Broncos can advance, I’d be more than pleased. Last year, the Chiefs faced a playoff run that felt like it was on “All Madden” difficulty, requiring them to travel to Buffalo and Baltimore to compete against two MVP-caliber quarterbacks. It’s a testament to the challenges that playoff teams endure.

Critics often say that the Chiefs having an “easy” path is detrimental. However, in the grand scheme of things, it won’t matter in three, five, or even ten years. The ultimate goal isn’t merely to face the toughest opponents en route to the Super Bowl; rather, it is to secure three more victories this season. Achieving this would make history as the first team in NFL history to clinch three consecutive Lombardi Trophies.

In my view, the optimal route to this achievement involves witnessing as many upsets as possible this weekend. This would likely alter the playoff dynamics in favor of the Chiefs, allowing them to capitalize on potential matchups that could be more favorable.
