ANDY DOMINGUEZ (11-1, 6 KO’s) is rapidly gaining recognition as one of the most thrilling competitors in the flyweight division, having showcased his talent in three electrifying bouts at Manhattan’s renowned Sony Hall.
Now, he is set to make yet another highly anticipated return to this iconic venue.
Dominguez, a fighter with extensive experience, will compete in one of the three eight-round matchups featured in the exciting “Holiday Fight Night 3,” scheduled for TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17. This event is being brought to you by BOXING INSIDER PROMOTIONS and will be broadcast live on DAZN, the premier platform for live-streamed boxing events.
Originally from a small town near Mexico City, Dominguez describes his early life as that of a “farm boy” rather than a city dweller. At the age of 10, he relocated to the Bronx, where he began his boxing journey at thirteen. With an impressive record of 59 amateur fights, he clinched three New York Golden Gloves titles, showcasing his skill and determination in the ring.
His professional debut took place in August 2020, where he secured a victory via a four-round decision against Jonathan Correa Alamo. His ascent in the professional ranks was rapid; one notable highlight was a fourth-round stoppage win over Edwin Reyes, which earned him the World Boxing Association’s Fedecentro flyweight title in May 2022.
Dominguez fought for the first time at Sony Hall in October 2022, thrilling the audience with a spectacular one-punch knockout in the first round against Ricardo Caraballo. Since then, he has fought at Sony Hall two more times, most recently earning a hard-fought six-round majority decision over Mohammed Alyeety, a bout that proved to be more challenging than anticipated.
His solitary professional loss occurred on February 24 this year during a contest for the WBC Continental Americas crown against the highly regarded prospect Yankiel Rivera. Despite being on the defensive for much of the early rounds, Dominguez managed to hurt Rivera later in the fight. Unfortunately, he was unable to capitalize on this momentum, leading to a ten-round decision loss where he only received one round from each of the judges.
Dominguez last stepped into the ring at Madison Square Garden on June 8, where he secured a majority six-round victory against Cristopher Rios, further solidifying his standing in the division.
Currently, he holds the impressive rank of 14th in the world in the flyweight division as recognized by the World Boxing Association (WBA). The charismatic fighter has caught the eye of several sponsors and is managed by sports marketing specialist Vishare Mooney, enhancing his profile in the boxing world.
On December 17, Dominguez will face off against ANGEL MEZA MORALES (8-2-3, 6 KO’s), affectionately known as “Rayito,” who hails from Ensenada in Baja California, Mexico.
Meza Morales kicked off his professional career impressively, winning his first four bouts—all inside the distance—and remained unbeaten in his initial nine fights. However, he faced a setback last September against the unbeaten Pedro Delgado Gaytan, losing a split ten-round decision. His initial bout in the United States took place on October 26, where he suffered an eight-round decision loss to another undefeated opponent, Daniel Barrera (7-0-1).
Tickets for the December 17 event at Sony Hall are available at various price points: $110, $160, $215, and $350 (for front-row seating). Fans can purchase tickets online at https://www.ticketweb.com/event/boxing-insider-fight-night-sony-hall-tickets/14011593.
Sony Hall is conveniently located at the base of the Paramount Hotel Times Square, situated at 235 W 46th Street.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. ET, with the first bout scheduled to commence at 7:30 p.m. ET.
