Injury Report: Jets vs. Vikings in London Friday Update

Minnesota Vikings News and Links, 12 March 2024

The latest injury report ahead of the highly anticipated Sunday match in London between the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Jets has been released, and it brings positive news for the Vikings as they prepare for the game.

Minnesota Vikings Injury Update: Key Players Ready to Compete

In a significant development for the Vikings, all players, except for the recently activated T.J. Hockenson, participated fully in practice on Friday in Watford, England. Notably, both Harrison Smith and Stephon Gilmore, who had taken a day off earlier in the week, returned to practice. While Hockenson has been designated as limited and will not play in Sunday’s game, the absence of any other injury concerns means the Vikings are largely in good shape as they head into this crucial matchup.

New York Jets Injury Report: Concerns as Key Players Face Doubts

As previously mentioned, the Jets will be without their starting right tackle, Morgan Moses, who has already been ruled out for the game. This absence is a significant blow to the Jets’ offensive line, impacting their game plan against a formidable Vikings defense.

Additionally, the final injury report reveals a few unexpected concerns, particularly for key defensive players, as they face negative classifications:

  • Linebacker C.J. Mosley, suffering from a toe injury, is listed as limited and remains doubtful for Sunday’s game.
  • Defensive tackle Leki Fotu, dealing with a hamstring issue, has also been marked as limited and is considered doubtful.

Both Mosley and Fotu were on track to play on Sunday; however, Mosley’s lingering toe injury has raised concerns. His doubtful status suggests he may not be available, which would allow former Viking Chazz Surratt to step in and take his place in the base defense, potentially altering the Jets’ defensive strategies.

Fotu had previously been a full participant in earlier practices, but his downgrade to limited status on Friday indicates a possible setback with his hamstring injury, making his participation on Sunday unlikely as well. This situation adds another layer of challenge for the Jets as they prepare for the game.

On a positive note for the Jets, right guard Alijah Vera-Tucker, who appeared on the injury report recently, was a full participant in practice and is cleared to play on Sunday. Additionally, Aaron Rodgers and Tyron Smith, both of whom were also on the injury report earlier, are expected to play without any restrictions.

In summary, the Jets are dealing with injury concerns heading into Sunday’s game, with only three players listed on the injury report: Morgan Moses ruled out, and both Mosley and Fotu doubtful to participate, potentially impacting their performance.
