Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has stated that his side aren’t satisfied with the draw against Real Sociedad in the Champions League.
Martinez was on the scoresheet for Inter, as he found a late goal to make sure that the Nerazzurri grabbed an equaliser. Real Sociedad had scored an early goal and they had put in quite a good performance in the first half, until the Nerazzurri managed to change the game, with Marcus Thuram making an impact off the bench.
After the game, Martinez spoke to Prime Video (via TMW) about the result and he stated that the side isn’t satisfied with getting only a point.
He said: “No we are not satisfied, we didn’t play well, we didn’t do what we had prepared. In the first half we were in particular difficulty, we have to improve a lot.”
Martinez also stated that Inter did expect Real Sociedad to play this well, saying: “We know that they are strong, that they have put many people in difficulty in their stadium, the important thing is not to have lost because then you go through an uphill group. Therefore, an important point.”
Inter reached the Champions League final last season and they would have hoped to start off the campaign in a better fashion, but Martinez’s late goal would give them hope of an improvement.
