The New York Knicks didn’t make a big splash this offseason, mostly because they didn’t feel like they needed to.
They seemed comfortable with last year’s core, and Jalen Brunson’s addition was the only big move they needed at the time.
Still, they made a signing that could be quite impactful down the line, bringing in Donte DiVincenzo and his defensive prowess.
The former Golden State Warriors guard took to Twitter to show his excitement about getting to work with the Knicks, hitting Madison Square Garden, and playing in New York City, greeting the fans on social media.

While not a superstar, DiVincenzo comes with vast postseason experience and pedigree, and he boasts the kind of versatile skill set that all coaches would die for — especially Tom Thibodeau.
He can play on and off the ball at both guard spots, is a pesky and physical defender, an elite cutter, and can even knock down shots from beyond the arc, and more importantly, he knows, accepts, and embraces his role.
More than that, he’s also set to join former Villanova teammates Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart and that chemistry should be off the charts right away.
The Knicks were one of the most improved teams in the league last season.
It doesn’t look like Thibodeau’s seat is getting any hotter, and they could be just one piece away from being a legitimate contender.
They have plenty of assets to pull off a big trade if a star becomes available.
In the meantime, DiVincenzo will try to help their cause.
