The San Diego Padres have arguably been the most disappointing team in baseball this year.
Few teams entered with higher expectations than the Padres.
After making the NLCS last year, they got Fernando Tatis Jr. back from suspension and signed shortstop Xander Bogaerts.
All signs pointed to the Padres being one of the top teams in the NL again.
But that could not have been further from the case.
The Padres have flopped this season and many people are uncertain as to why.
They have a lineup full of All-Stars and have the NL Cy Young favorite in Blake Snell.
According to Allison Edmonds, Tatis commented on the disaster of a season.
He said: “We put a little bit of pressure on ourselves too much trying to make it happen instead of letting it come to us.”
“At the beginning there was all the expectation…the hype…people were excited. We put a little bit of pressure on ourselves too much trying to make it happen instead of letting it come to us…we feel like we learned our lesson in the end.”

San Diego has a 75-78 record on the year.
They are only 4.5 games out of the Wild Card but that is too many to make up at this point in the year.
All the Padres should be doing is looking towards next season.
More than likely they will run it back with the same roster and hope for better results.
One player the Padres may be unable to bring back is Snell.
He is the favorite to win the NL Cy Young and is an unrestricted free agent at season’s end.
You can bet the Padres will do what they can to bring him back.
But, his price tag may be too high for their liking.
