Paris Saint-Germain has already been without Kang-in Lee for a couple of games due to injury. However, due to national team duties, the capital club could be without the South Korean international again.
Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano reported that PSG gave the green light today on Lee’s participation at the Asian Games beginning Sept. 19. The French giants were not obligated to let the 22-year-old leave since it’s not a FIFA event.

Nonetheless, Lee being on the team and possibly winning the tournament would allow his military obligation to be cut short. As a result, Lee’s entourage was happy once the news came out that the midfielder would be allowed to participate.
“We are grateful to PSG for being able to handle the situation in this way and for helping the player,” Lee’s entourage said (h/t Paris Fans). “Everyone is happy.”
If South Korea goes deep in this competition, Lee will miss the UEFA Champions League contest on Oct. 4 against Newcastle United, as the Asian Games don’t end until Oct. 8.
All PSG will hope for is that Lee continues building good form and avoids a severe injury.
