TaylorMade Golf has unveiled an exciting new lineup of drivers: Qi35, Qi35 LS, Qi35 Max, and Qi35 Max Lite, promising golfers an exceptional blend of distance and forgiveness.
In the realm of golf driver construction, players typically face a dilemma between achieving a high moment of inertia (MOI) or a low center of gravity (CG). However, the innovative Qi35 drivers allow golfers to experience both advantages simultaneously, unlocking a new level of performance.
Starting January 7, pre-orders for the Qi35 drivers will be available, with the official launch set for January 30 at retail locations globally.
The Qi35 driver is engineered to maximize performance by combining a lowered CG projection with an increased MOI. This cutting-edge design translates to enhanced distance achieved from a larger area of the clubface, allowing golfers to experience longer drives across various impact points.
CG projection is a critical measurement that indicates the balance point of the driver head projected onto the face. Understanding this metric is essential as it helps define the optimal launch conditions. Striking the ball above this balance point results in higher trajectories with reduced spin, leading to longer drives. Conversely, hitting below this balance point increases spin, lowers launch angles, and shortens distance.
By strategically lowering the balance point and optimizing weight distribution in the clubhead, TaylorMade’s engineers have expanded the sweet spot, enhancing launch conditions for golfers.
The advancements in launch conditions lead to increased distance across a broader area of the clubface for all models in the Qi35 driver family, making them highly effective tools for golfers.
Additionally, the Qi35 LS and Qi35 models feature an interchangeable Trajectory Adjustment System (TAS) that allows golfers to further optimize CG projection, providing the best mass-efficient CG adjustments tailored for shot shape and control.
Utilizing chromium carbon fiber in various parts of the driver head, alongside a fourth-generation Carbon Twist Face and Infinity Carbon Crown, TaylorMade engineers have successfully removed excess weight while redistributing it towards the rear of the head. This innovative approach significantly enhances MOI in the Qi35 drivers.
The result is a remarkable increase in forgiveness, yielding a 13% tighter dispersion pattern compared to the previous Qi10 model when the 13-gram weight is positioned in the rear setting. The Qi35 Max model continues to set the standard for forgiveness, boasting an impressive MOI of 10K.
When combined with previous TaylorMade innovations such as the Carbon Twist Face, Thru-Slot Speed Pocket, and a 4° loft sleeve, the Qi35 drivers deliver an unparalleled suite of technological advancements.
The multi-material construction of the Qi35 drivers incorporates materials like chromium carbon fiber, steel, aluminum, tungsten, and titanium, working in harmony with the advanced technology to create a perfect balance of design and performance.
Explore the Features of Qi35 Drivers
To enhance the ability to reposition weight further back and forward in the clubhead, the Qi35 adopts a high inertia shape similar to that of the Qi35 Max. By extending the length of the head front-to-back by eight millimeters, the saved weight can be repositioned, making the Qi35 a driver with a 9K inertia rating.
Standard configurations for the Qi35 include two TAS weights: a 13-gram weight at the back and a 3-gram weight at the front, allowing for customized CG projection. With the 13-gram TAS weight positioned at the back, the Qi35 boasts a CG projection of 1.6mm from the center face.
Flipping the weights results in a lower CG projection closer to the center face at 0.4mm, yielding an MOI of 8.1K and providing a distance gain of five yards.
Qi35 drivers are priced at £529 / €689 / SEK 7,499 / NOK 7,499 / DKK 4,999 / CHF 689, available in lofts of 9.0°, 10.5°, and 12.0°. They come equipped with the 2025 Fujikura Ventus Blue (5S, 5R, 5A) and Mitsubishi Diamana T+ 60 (X, S) stock shafts. The standard grip is Golf Pride’s Black/Silver Z-Grip (0.600 52g).
Discover the Features of Qi35 Max
The Qi35 Max features a strategically placed rear fixed tungsten weight housed within the newly designed symmetric inertia generator, weighing in at 34 grams. This design choice maintains the overall head weight while ensuring a MOI of 10K and lowering the CG projection to 2.9mm, thus optimizing launch conditions for spectacular distance.
Qi35 Max drivers are available at a price of £529 / €689 / SEK 7,499 / NOK 7,499 / DKK 4,999 / CHF 689, with options in 9.0°, 10.5°, and 12.0° lofts. They come standard with the 2025 Fujikura AirSpeeder (5S, 5R, 5A) and Mitsubishi Diamana T+ 60 (X, S) shafts, along with Golf Pride’s Black/Silver Z-Grip (0.600 58g).
Experience the Performance of Qi35 LS
The Qi35 LS driver features a unique setup with one 13-gram TAS weight in the back and two 3-gram weights in the front, allowing for precise optimization of the center of gravity (CG) to meet individual golfer needs. This innovative approach to weight distribution enhances the driver’s performance significantly.
The strategic integration of TAS weights in the Qi35 LS, as opposed to traditional sliding weights, increases mass efficiency and results in more significant changes to CG, launch conditions, and spin. For instance, when the 13-gram weight is positioned at the front toe, the CG decreases to -0.2mm, marking the lowest CG projection in the entire Qi35 family. This meticulous weighting results in longer distances and lower spin rates.
Conversely, placing the 13-gram weight in the back position increases the MOI while slightly raising the CG projection to 0.8mm. This versatility allows golfers to tailor their equipment to their specific gameplay preferences.
Qi35 LS drivers are priced at £529 / €689 / SEK 7,499 / NOK 7,499 / DKK 4,999 / CHF 689 and are offered in lofts of 8.0°, 9.0°, and 10.5°. They come equipped with Mitsubishi Kai’li Blue DarkWave CB 60 (X, S, R) and Kai’li White DarkWave 60 (X, S) stock shafts, along with GolfPride’s Black/Silver Z-Grip (0.600 52g).
