At just 25 years old, Kerr has struggled to secure consistent playing time under coach Alexander Straus, given the strong presence of established midfielders like Georgia Stanway and Sarah Zadrazil. This competitive environment has prompted her to seek a loan transfer that allows her to showcase her skills more effectively.

The club officially confirmed her loan to Liverpool FC for the latter half of the season through a brief announcement on their website, FCBayern.com. This move is seen as a vital step for Kerr to gain valuable match experience, which is essential for her growth as a player.

“Together with Sam, we concluded that gaining more match practice is crucial for her continued development,” stated Bayern’s women’s sporting director Bianca Rech. “Liverpool FC presents an ideal environment for Sam, both culturally and linguistically, ensuring she feels comfortable and supported during her time there.”
