Teams Interested in Signing Pete Alonso Revealed by Insider

This Major League Baseball offseason has been nothing short of thrilling, as numerous high-profile free agents are making significant moves to new teams, enhancing their rosters for the upcoming season. Fans and analysts alike are closely monitoring these transactions, which could reshape the competitive landscape of MLB.

Among the notable signings, Juan Soto has joined the ranks of the New York Mets, Max Fried is now a part of the New York Yankees, and Blake Snell has found a new home with the Los Angeles Dodgers. These acquisitions are part of a larger strategy by teams to bolster their lineups and improve their chances for postseason success.

Yet, there are still several marquee players yet to find their new teams, with Pete Alonso of the Mets emerging as a key player to watch. His future is generating buzz as teams are eager to secure his powerful bat for their lineup.

According to MLB Insider Jon Heyman, four teams are currently in pursuit of Alonso this offseason, adding to the excitement surrounding his potential move.

“Giants, Mariners, and Jays along with the Mets,” Heyman said via MLB Network on ‘X.’

While the Mets have been viewed as the frontrunner for Alonso’s signature, Heyman has revealed that the San Francisco Giants, Seattle Mariners, and Toronto Blue Jays are also keen on acquiring his talents. This growing interest highlights the value and impact that Alonso could bring to any lineup.

Alonso made his MLB debut in 2019 and has spent all six seasons with the Mets, quickly becoming a fan favorite and a vital player for the franchise. His reputation as a power hitter is well-established, having won multiple home run derbies and recording impressive home run totals each season.

In the 2024 season, Alonso showcased his durability by participating in all 162 games. He finished the season with a batting average of .240, alongside 34 home runs, 88 RBIs, and an OPS of .788. These statistics underline his consistent performance and ability to contribute significantly to his team’s offensive efforts.

Heyman emphasizes that the dynamic nature of MLB can lead to rapid changes, suggesting that it would not be surprising if additional teams enter the conversation regarding Alonso’s potential signing. This unpredictability keeps fans engaged and speculating about the future of their favorite players.

Although Alonso’s home run count dipped slightly in 2024, it was remarkable to see him maintain his health and participate in every game for the first time in his career, showcasing his commitment and resilience as a player.
