The Dodgers Did Something They Haven’t Done Since 1892

The Los Angeles Dodgers are off to a scorching-hot start this season on the offensive side of the ball.

Through seven games, the Dodgers have already scored 47 runs, averaging out to just under seven runs per game.

The Dodgers have scored five or more runs in each of their first seven games, which is historic in and of itself.

The last time a Dodger team did this was all the way back in 1892, per Sarah Langs of MLB.com.

Additionally, only nine teams since 1900 have scored at least five runs in each of their first eight games — and the last time that happened was in 2004.

The Dodgers’ offense is on a historic pace, and that’s even with two-time American League MVP Shohei Ohtani off to a slow start.

But with Mookie Betts and Teoscar Hernández playing out of their minds, and Will Smith and Freddie Freeman continuing to rake, the Dodgers’ offense is putting up historic numbers.

They’ll have a chance to continue this incredible run on Tuesday night against the San Francisco Giants. They’ll have to do it against the 2023 NL Cy Young runner-up, Logan Webb.
