Trade Proposal Sends Collin Sexton To Magic, Cole Anthony To Jazz

One NBA expert proposed that the Utah Jazz and Orlando Magic make a trade including Collin Sexton and Cole Anthony.

Dan Favale of Bleacher Report proposed the following mock trade in between the Jazz and Magic:

Orlando Magic Receive: Collin Sexton

Utah Jazz Receive: Cole Anthony, 2025 first-round choice (most beneficial from Denver or Orlando; top-five defense), 2026 second-round choice

Sexton balanced 18.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, 4.9 helps, 0.8 takes and 0.2 blocks in 2023-24 while shooting 48.7% from the field, 39.4% from beyond the arc and 85.9% from the free-throw line. He’ll make $18.4 million next season.

“For their part, the Magic don’t appear intent on hyper-acceleration,” Favale composed in his NBA trade proposition. “Sexton is more in line with their gradualistic technique. He won’t bilk touches from Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner or Jalen Suggs and canned 44.7 percent of his spot-up triples last season however offers a playmaking and scoring punch when going downhill that will include compound to Orlando’s offense. Jalen Brunson, Luka Dončić and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander were the only other gamers in 2023-24 to have as numerous made shots and helps out of drives.

“Having Banchero, Suggs and Wagner allows the Magic to focus on secondary ball-handlers if they’re prepared to bank on continued development. Especially in this case. Sexton isn’t costing a boatload of assets, and with two years and $37.2 million left on his deal, he’s both digestibly priced and scheduled to come off the books just as Banchero’s next contract takes effect.”

For the Magic, Anthony balanced 11.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.9 helps, 0.8 takes and 0.5 blocks in 2023-24 while shooting 43.5% total, 33.8% from 3 and 82.6% from the nasty line. He’ll make $12.9 million next season.

“Anthony is a cheapo multilevel scorer with good rebounding chops for his size,” Favale composed in his NBA trade proposition. “Netting him and an additional first is reasonable value, particularly when the Jazz are saving over $5 million in immediate salary and further cementing their #InThePooperForCooper campaign—regardless of what they wind up doing with He-Who-Will-Soon-Be-Named. If they really want to push the issue, they can see if Orlando will include a 2026 pick rather than a 2025 selection, since Utah doesn’t own any extra firsts outright that year.”
