“His ability to remain composed, regardless of where we position him on the field—whether at the corner or transitioning to the nickel position—is exceptional,” Merritt noted. “Last year, he didn’t have to travel as much, but this season, his versatility is becoming a vital asset for us.” The coaching staff has high expectations for him as the season progresses, and his growth will be pivotal for the team’s success.

“He’s such an approachable player,” Merritt continued, “which makes communication easier. While McDuffie’s adaptability is crucial for the Chiefs’ defense, the bigger question has been identifying a reliable cornerback to complement him on the field. “In my opinion, there’s no one better in that locker room than Nazeeh Johnson,” Merritt expressed. His character and work ethic have earned him respect among his teammates, and his contributions are becoming increasingly valuable as the season unfolds.

Merritt believes Johnson has made significant strides in his performance. “Considering his journey as a special teamer, he is now stepping up and playing the corner position effectively. Nazeeh is doing great work for us, and he will continue to learn and improve. He faced challenges recently but will grow from those experiences.”
