To follow up yesterday’s question with the obvious next one, which offensive newcomer are you looking forward to seeing on the field for your Minnesota Vikings. I am excluding rookies, so no JJ McCarthy. Normally a new QB is the obvious winner, but curious to see with Aaron Jones and some other strong players coming in.
Poll
Which offensive newcomer are you looking forward to seeing the most?
Sam Darnold, QB – 7th year out of USC. Sam is a talented, but has the history of poor performance with bad teams. We’ll see if he can turn it around.
Aaron Jones, RB – 8th year out of UTEP. Aaron has had 3 1,000 yard seasons. He has missed some time over the years with injuries, but he is productive when he does play. Had a great run to end last year and help propel Green Bay into the playoffs.
Robert Tonyan, TE – 7th year out of Indiana State. Tonyan’s best year was 2020. He’s consistent when given opportunities, but has mostly been a TE2, which isn’t a lot of opportunity. Only 11 catches last year, he’ll have to work to revive his career.
Trent Sherfield, WR – 7th year out of Vanderbilt. Trent is a depth piece at WR, but for some reason there seems to be some buzz. If Addison get suspended for the start of the year, Trent might have a chance to solidify a role in this offense.
Dan Feeney, G – 8th year out of Indiana. The interior of the OL has been mediocre at best the last several years. Feeney has made 65 starts in his career, but those starting days were a long time ago. Can he grab a starting OG spot and get his career back on track?
I’ll admit I ran out of enthusiasm after Sam Darnold and Aaron Jones. The young talent continuing to develop on offense is more the story than the free agents. Still curious since they don’t get talked about as much.
