The Young Athlete Road Races are set to take place in the picturesque region of East Lothian next month, providing a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to showcase their skills and compete against their peers.
The exciting closed circuit at East Fortune will serve as the venue for this thrilling event on Saturday 15 March, promising a day filled with athletic achievement and community spirit.
On this day, six competitive races will be scheduled across the U17, U15, and U13 age groups, with valuable medals up for grabs for both individual athletes and team performances (with a minimum of three athletes counting towards team scores).
Clubs and individual runners are encouraged to go online and submit their entries via their respective portals. Remember, the entry period will close promptly at 5pm on Thursday 27 February, so don’t miss your chance to participate!
The approximate race distances for each age group are as follows:
- U13 – 3km
- U15 – 4km
- U17 – 5km

Essential Information for London Mini Marathon Selection
The selection process for the Scottish team representing each age group (U15 and U17) at this April’s prestigious London Mini Marathon will be determined by the performance of the first four athletes finishing this local event.
In addition to these slots, there will also be two discretionary positions available, which will be filled based on the athletes’ current form and eligibility criteria.
